On the authority of its articles of association the Swiss Informatics Society (SI) created the Advisory Board whose responsibility is to offer the SI Board advice and opinions concerning long-term activities and the future development of the association.

The SI Board aims at attracting personalities for membership in the Advisory Board whose advice or opinions enjoy great credibility on account of their in depth knowledge, their experience, and their reputation. The size of the Advisory Board is regulated to have between  10 to 20 members.
