The field User Experience is of interest to professionals with a job profile that matches or is close to

• The UX (User Experience) Specialist designs the user interaction from process ("customer journey"), the user interface look and feel to detailed machinery interface designs (software or hardware) and eventually the interface implementation and testing. An important aspect is to develop alternative designs (prototypes/mocks) and testing/evaluating those before operational implementation. They work closely with the users, Business Analysts and Engineers. Sometimes they are also a UX Developer/Frontend Developer (part of Software Engineering) and sometimes the job ends when a UI is specified - and is resumed when testing it.

The SI special interest group Software Ergonomics focuses on the software ergonomics as a subcategory of ergonomics that concerns the software design of systems, rather than the hardware design. Software ergonomics includes the determination of user needs, interface design, user support and usability testing. Hence, we cover the topics of Usability Engineering, Human Centered Design, Human Computer Interaction. Also, we cover Requirements Engineering and Business Analysis where there are overlaps with the field of interest Business Informatics.
